THE POSITION
The Senior Manager of Finance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the
financial operations of Entente, ensuring regulatory compliance, and operational
excellence. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role plays a critical part
in shaping financial strategy, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting long-term
organizational sustainability.
The Senior Manager of Finance leads a high-performing team and collaborates cross-
functionally to drive financial insight, innovation, and accountability across the
organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
• Partner with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with
Entente’s mission and strategic plan.
• Provide financial insights and guidance to support executive decision-making and
long-term planning.
• Lead the annual budgeting process for Entente operating Budget and 1316342
Ontario Inc. ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational goals.
• Monitor financial performance of Entente’s operating budget, Entente Plus Group
Insurance Plans and Entente Foundation and proactively identify risks, opportunities
and corrective actions.
Operational Oversight & Compliance
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts
payable/receivable, payroll and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings and pension
remittances.
• Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage the annual audit process and maintain strong relationships with the external
auditors.
• Oversee the annual membership fee billing and collection.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a culture of excellence,
collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Establish clear performance expectations and provide coaching and professional
development opportunities.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and financial literacy across departments.
Governance & Stakeholder Engagement
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for the board of directors, member
meetings, committees, senior management and staff.
• Act as a key liaison to the Audit Committee by delivering training, contributing to
agenda planning and supporting governance functions.
• Support the CFO in managing relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
• Provide financial oversight and support to district treasurers.

System & Process Improvement
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes and internal controls
to enhance efficiency, accuracy and transparency.
• Leverage technology to streamline reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure integration of financial systems
with organizational platforms.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance,
preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a management or supervisory position.
• Possesses strong financial acumen, and business savvy.
• A track record of applying metrics and other data to support decision-making, drive
results, and increase transparency and accountability.
• Advanced technology skills, including proficiency in Sage Intacct and MS Office 365.
• Experience with CRM, preferably working with Microsoft Dynamics.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills. Able to easily translate
financial data and information to stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior management.
• Engenders trust, with a commitment to consultation and consensus building, and is a
mentor to staff.
• Strives for excellence, invests in remaining abreast of and applying best practices.
Tests, evaluates, and course corrects. Fosters an environment of learning and
constant improvement.
• Ensures high standards across all accountabilities. Goes above and beyond to

• Entente is a bilingual, national organization; fluency in French is an asset.
• Professional certification (CPA) preferred or experiential equivalent.
COMPENSATION
A competitive compensation package including a base salary (range between $125,000
to $135,000), matching contribution to a defined pension plan, comprehensive health &
dental benefits, and generous vacation time will be provided.
